Real Estate and Career Luncheon was a Success
The Third Annual Real Estate Networking Luncheon, hosted by the Center for Real Estate Management and Development was a great success. Twenty five current and prospective real estate students were in attendance and gained insight on various real estate careers, especially working in the Right of Way industry. After presentations, students spoke one-on-one with guest speakers regarding additional trainings, internships, employment opportunities and salaries. Featured speakers included Gary Triplett with Drucker and Falk, 2013 President of Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM); Bonnie Tripp-Simmons, Management Engineer II with NCDOT; Catherine Muth, CEO and Jacqueline McGregor, Manager, Talent Acquisitions with O.R. Colan Associates, Kristal Armstrong, ARM®, Roving Manager with Community Management and 2009 SAU graduate.
Glenn French, director of the Center for Real Estate Management and Development, stated, “Our conference allowed the attendees to receive valuable information from highly respected employers within the Right of Way industry. Most students were very impressed with the starting salaries of more than $37,000 with O.R. Colan Associates.”
