Community service is a way of life at Saint Augustine’s University. During the inaugural community service fair more than 200 Saint Augustine’s University students came out the MLK Mall area to visit various community organizations to learn more about the rewarding experience that can be gained through community service.

Some the vendors included Meals on Wheels of Wake County, the North Carolina Museum of Science, Prezell Robinson Library, Rex UNC Health Care, SAFE Haven for Casts, Stop Hunger Now of Raleigh, YMCA of Alexander Drive, City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, and Wake Chapel Baptist Church to name a few.

Tanazia Lodge, a senior from Springfield, Mass, stated that the fair was a great event.

“I found the fair to be very informative,” Lodge said. “As citizens, we should give back to our community. It means everything.”
