St. Aug Victorious In Two Events at Penn State National Indoor Meet
Burkheart Ellis, Jr. (Fr./Raleigh, N.C.) and the men’s 4×400 relay team were winners at the Penn State National Invitational indoor track and field meet this past weekend. The meet was held at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track Facility on Jan. 25-26, 2013.
Ellis captured the men’s 400 meter dash in 48.71 seconds. He finished ahead of teammate Elhadji Mbow, who claimed second place in 49.05.
Ellis also helped the Falcons win the JoePa Invitational men’s 4×400 meter relay. He, along with Josh Edmonds (Jr./Jacksonville, Fla.), James Quarles (Jr./Washington, D.C.) and Dane Hyatt (Jr./Goodwill, Jamaica), ran a time of 3:09.46 to defeat Pittsburgh and Hampton.
